Community Tasting Note

Saturday, October 20, 2012 - Cork disintegrated when pulling, decanted for 2 hours, major sediment in bottle. Clear, deep garnet with noticeable bricking. Nose was clean, with medium+ intensity; aromas evolved significantly over 3hrs of drinking, initially quite raisiny, but clean black fruit, leather and spice emerged around the 1.5hr mark. Palate was dry, with medium+ body, medium acidity, very polished medium tannins. Flavours evolved from dried black fruit (raisins/prunes) at first to ripe plums and black currents, with a meaty/savoury undercurrent. Medium+ finish. A pleasure to drink with braised lamb; in a very good place right now.
