Saturday, June 30, 2018 - At tasting. Brief note. Nose shows sweet hickory smoked brisket that is nearly finished on the smoker. Palate shows the same sweet beefy flesh and unctuous smoke, toasted black pepper, and spicy red fruits. This has a ton of structure and still need some time unlike the '02 which was at peak. Finish was long and tense with the pepper and smoked meat notes complimenting the red fruits. Very nice.
