Medium bodied tart lemon-lime flavors quickly give way to wet stony minerals and the bristly acidity. Quite regal in a lighter more elegant style with wonderful energy, fruit takes a back seat.
Vintage looked like a disaster, but was saved by a late heat wave. A warm, not hot vintage, created rich wines with ripeness. This took nearly 10 years on the yeast before it opened and showed enough precision to be called Dom Perignon.
