Friday, April 26, 2013 - Evolved color. Strangely enough the alcohol is quite evident (13.5%), I can't remember than happening in any other Alsatian wine. The nose is rather restraint, dried apricot and ripe peach, heady/heavy white flower essence.
The palate is so strange as its combining high minerality and acidity with apricot and peach, alcohol burn, oily texture but thin concentration (if that makes sense!) and minimal aftertaste.
The palate is aggressive with the minerality, acidity and alcohol overpowering the varietal flavors. I havent' tried this producer before, so I can't say whether that the house style but I seriously doubt it. The wine leaness make me think it has gone downhill.
