Sunday, October 1, 2017 - 40% Cariñena, 40% Syrah and 20% Garnacha from the Montsant - which, if you haven't seen, you should - rugged beauty. I believe this wine is just entering its peak - and will probably be at peak for a number of years. The producer's tasting notes are very hard to argue with: "Wood smoke, spice box, incense, lavender, black cherry
and plum aromas are followed by a mouth-filling, round,
dense wine with outstanding grip and length." The mouthfeel is luxurious probably in no small thanks to 14.5% alcohol. My guess is that with even further aging, this will merit a couple more points. Great qpr.
