Monday, October 29, 2007 - A gift from Maryilnne. Requires at least an hour to open up and shed a metallic edge, two hours is better. Once it’s open though, it’s quite lovely. Dry, dusty red fruit with a sour cheery element in the nose. Medium weight, initial finish really builds with an earthy and slight medicinal lift, finish is a little short, but trails for a while. A classic old style Rioja, I’m certainly picked up more.
