Saturday, July 11, 2015 - Good wine that is both robust yet retains a freshness. There are big dark berry fruits, particularly blackberry and blueberry, which edge to cooked, but never as far as confected. Purity of fruit with a nice tobacco and spice background with just a hint of vanilla. They didn't go overboard on the American oak here. Tannins are firm, but approachable. By no means complex, but perfect for BBQ'd meats.
