Saturday, August 16, 2014 - Green-tinted gold. Tropical fruits, pineapple, cream, buttery oak. Very fruity on the palate, juicy pineapple and gooseberry, grape skin acidity, vanilla oak. Decent finish with echoes of pineapple swirl and mandarin sherbet. Very fruity Chard but cleanly made, not overpowering. They used to make 'em Chardonnays fruit-charged like this... but they usually overdosed the oak, forgot the acidity, and missed the point. This, however, is striking the right note. Very nice.
