Monday, December 22, 2014 - Nose of dark fruit, dry leaves, old oak, and light savory mushroom. Flavors of cherry, damp earth, cranberry and even a little cinnamon candy apple in the background. Fantastic balance with dark fruit and earth on the front, smooth tannins in the middle, and lighter fruit and pleasing acidity on the backend. This was the best of several bottles that I had; will last for some time yet. Consumed over two hours without a decant and while it did mellow somewhat, this wine was still going strong at the end.
