Tasted July 8, 2007 at home. Opened and splash decanted about 39 minutes before serving in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Dark garnet color in the glass, slightly opaque hue. Nose of black currants, hints of roasted me, melted red licorice some interesting florals and to completely plagiarize the WA some notes of scorched earth. Flavors of red licorice, red cherries, tart red berries and maybe some currants. Medium acidity, firm tannins, light to medium body. Nose beats the palate without a doubt. Drink with a minimum of an hour in the decanter or hold a little longer.
