Sunday, December 13, 2020 - As so often happens, in the long run, it is the balanced vintages that provide the great bottles and not the big vintages that early on receive the high scores. Just a perfect bottle with tapenade and dark plum aromas and flavors, medium-weight body, intensity, balance, purity, and penetration. I do not understand the comment that this is a modern style -- Clape has always been the most refined of Cornas producers, but that is not modern; I know his wines back to 1977 and began visiting in 1986, hardly "modern" times. Cellared since original release.
