Tuesday, July 27, 2010 - 13% ABV. Dark garnet, cloudy opaque in the glass. Aromatically, this wine smells like classic Cote Rotie to me with a slight hickory smoke aroma and light black olive. Medium full bodied with tangy black fruit with a lemony streak. It took me some time to warm up to this wine at first, but it grew on me. Retasting this the following day, it seemed to have bit more leather and seemed a little more dried out. Not sure if that is indicative of an early maturity or not.
