Monday, June 3, 2019 - Janasse's 2012 Châteauneuf is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 13% Mourvèdre and 2% Cinsault. Highly aromatic, it is effusive of dark bramble fruits, Provençal herbs, Asian spices, loamy earth and licorice. Full-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%), softly oaked and with medium sweet tannins, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose. Dense on the mid-palate and lengthy on the back end, this is a Châteauneuf that still has plenty of life left. Drink now-2027.
