Saturday, March 5, 2016 - Funny that there's tasting notes on this from over a year ago when The Winery says it was just released the beginning of March 2016.
This is a delicious wine. Very nicely balanced - slightly to the tannic side. It is very smooth, but not light. Good berry and spice with a long oak finish.

Some wines are very strong up front and that flavor disappears quickly - this one being not too strong up front and remaining flavorful through the finish. Not sure if that is a specialized term of oenophiles, but that is how I was using it. Being slightly tannic means that it was a little on the tart side, but that is a characteristic that usually diminishes over time.
