Saturday, March 5, 2016 - Funny that there's tasting notes on this from over a year ago when The Winery says it was just released the beginning of March 2016.
This is a delicious wine. Very nicely balanced - slightly to the tannic side. It is very smooth, but not light. Good berry and spice with a long oak finish.

6/24/2016 10:23:00 AM - How can it be slightly tannic but also very smooth? I thought if it's tannic then it won't really be smooth..thx I'm just beginning to learn. Also, how does this compare to duck horn cab 2012? Napa not estate

6/25/2016 3:31:00 PM - By smooth, I mean that the flavor profile over time is fairly level. Some wines are very strong up front and that flavor disappears quickly - this one being not too strong up front and remaining flavorful through the finish. Not sure if that is a specialized term of oenophiles, but that is how I was using it. Being slightly tannic means that it was a little on the tart side, but that is a characteristic that usually diminishes over time.
