Friday, January 24, 2014 - Ah, so Kratošija's actually the name for Zinfandel in Macedonia and Montenegro, an autochtonous variety there I guess. Deep red body. Light, slightly sourish red berry aroma, yoghurty, leathery notes. Humm More of the same in the taste... the tartness showing slightly more, even slightly, just ever so slightly vinegary. A cheap (though 4€ for 1l is slightly expensive for Macedonian wine) Zinfandeloid, that probably doesn't demonstrate the variety that well, being roughly in the same category as some 1-1.5€ cheaper Vranac, but hey. One can do far worse.
