Saturday, February 18, 2023 - After steamboat dinner at Old Holland Rd. Pop and poured. Drank in Grassl 1855.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs. Sediments at bottom of bottle.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of smoky ash earth, meat and old leather, black fruits. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), resolving high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of roasted black fruits - blackberries, black cherries, leather meat, smooth dark cassis and spice, savoury earth. Some tea leaves on day 2. Long finish.
Very good quality. Time to drink up and enjoy this well aged Aglianico.
