Sunday, March 20, 2016 - Clear, medium (+) ruby with a hint of garnet. The nose is clean, with red cherry, black plum and a nice touch of oak spice. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, but with some nice fruit. Medium acidity, medium to medium (+) tannins and medium (+) high alcohol (14.4%). It actually seems a little hotter than what is stated on the label, and benefits from being served a little cooler. The palate is consistent with the nose and fairly balanced, with medium (+) body, medium flavor intensity and length. Nice, tart, cranberry lightens up the the finish and keep you wanting more. This is drinking very well now and is likely to do so for several more years. Contrary to other reviewers, I think this is a very good value in the $10-12 range.
