Monday, April 6, 2015 - This is an example of great wine being made in a challenging vintage. 2011 was the coolest vintage for Washington State in twenty years with most producers failing to achieve adequate ripeness. The balance, softness and finesse of this wine are complemented by great depth and character. I get old world notes of stewed red fruits, garrigue, dried papaya, dried flowers, and chewing tobacco. Dusty tannins provide texture for the medium-plus finish.

Accessible now with and hour of decanting or can cellar.
