Friday, August 29, 2014 - Classic middle-of-the-road Champagne nose. Open and fresh. Citrus and yellow apples. Touch of roasted nuts. Hints of wet stone and perfume. But all very sublime and gentle. A bit too gentle?
Medium-fullish body. Good acid backbone. Also creamy, nutty, slightly roasted. Good balance. Slightly bitter finish. More to the elegant than the powerful side.
Tasted blind this was hard to guess. A weaker Pol Roger vintage? A bit anonymous and maybe too expensive. In need of further cellaring?
