Monday, January 13, 2020 - Creamy, soft, delicate, with fine mousse, still fairly fresh but at a good and enjoyable place. Nice apple and small pit fruit cloaked in light yeast brioche and hint of hazelnut. Warm and giving but maintains a lite touch and easy to drink. Not as focused as a bit more acidity would have given it better structure which I am finding to be the case with some of the 2002's we tasted recently. Made for a lovely start of an epic food and wine evening. Additional bottles will be put into more immediate rotation as i would expect them to be fun to drink over the next few years but this is not one to keep for old bones. A great daytime Champagne when you want to keep it lite & easy but don't let that disposition fool you as the quality is evident.
