Thursday, November 12, 2015 - Was served this blind and all the guesses were '80s St. Julien... Somehow this wine seemed young still. Latour is a brute and this 55-year-old was no exception, delivering immense red cedar and mature black cherry and currant on the palate, supported by damp mineral-laden earth. Powerful nose of damp hay and red clay. Tingling minerality on the palate and red cedar tannin still hanging on. Quite amazing to see how hard this wine was still kicking.
