The exception was that it had a bit of a vegetal, slightly bitter component that I typically do not experience with this wine. Otherwise nice ripe cherry, medium body with a smooth, silky texture and a firm structure (same structure as always - and a primary reason why I like this merlot over other similarly priced merlots that are often flabby).
