Friday, November 25, 2016 - A high QPR Margaux with elegance and a fruit forward posture reflecting its vintage. Nice nose of plum, blackberry with hints of pepper and smoke, this dark brooding purple wine hits the palate with a soft mouthfeel and interesting complexity of its dark fruit and tobacco flavors. A balanced finish with soft but strong tannins and a nicely fresh acidity leads to a medium long finish with a fine blackberry aftertaste. The nice balance and strong fruit presage a bit of aging to soften it up a bit more, though it is drinking nicely now.
