Wednesday, May 4, 2016 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, blueberry, raspberry and allspice with mushroom and dark earth undertones. Palate: Medium bodied, spicy blue and dark red fruit attack, solid acidic back-bone provides good balance, earthiness dominates the back-end. Finish: Medium plus length - earth, raspberry, pomegranate, blueberry, and spice - all of it very nice! This wine shows the unique characteristics of pinot produced from the Carneros AVA showing the earthy blue fruit I frequently get from Willamette pinots while still possessing sun kissed fruit characteristics commonly found in Central Coast and RRV pinots.
