Saturday, August 30, 2014 - Medium ruby/violet color. Expressive nose of red/black fruits w/subtle spice note. Rich mid palate of dry extract of black cherry, well-integrated oak, subtle blackcurrant, plummy texture with a lengthy finish of rich tannins, good acid balance, plums and black fruits. Structured fairly tight and Likely to age well for at least for 5 yrs. Went well with a NY strip steak. Evolves well in the glass for the first two hours. Good value. First of the 2012 Napa cabs I've tasted. I take that back...had a '12 Caymus a few weeks ago that was a bit like Mrs. Buttersworth pancake syrup; over the top but satisfying. Debating whether to write that experience up.
