80 Points

Sunday, February 28, 2016 - Monday Night Blinds (Home (Noe st)): (Blind)
Appearance:
- Pale gold, clear, bright, elevated tears
Aroma:
- highly terpenic
- fresh rose petals
- fresh lychee
- no botrytis,
- little bit of rotting lychee
- slight white pepper, very floral
Palate:
- medium plus body
- significant RS, maybe 15 g/L
- medium acid
- moderate phenolic bitterness
- 13.5% alcohol
- clean winemaking

High terpenes plus RS leads me to Gewurztraminer from Alsace, basic/AOP level, $25

Actually: 2013 Alamos Torrontes, 13%

Analysis: RS is not classic for Torrontes and the acid is a bit low, but aromatics are correct - more white peppery/floral like Muscat, compared to more ripe lychee for Gewurz.
