Thursday, April 13, 2017 - This is a special wine...but it needs to be open for at least an hour to gain its full potential. Wish I had known this before consuming most of the bottle. Classy chard nose, underlying subtle butterscotch, oak kissed, not the least bit heavy or flabby though. A beautiful medium gold in the glass, floral, a soapy tangerine nuance in a very good way, with a little lemon zest and flinty minerality. Creamy, full mouth feel, just the right kiss of oak with pleasant late arriving acidity and a finish that can cut through the best artisanal garlic used in a dinner chicken caesar salad. Underappreciated by myself in its youth but coming on strong with a little aging. Wish I had more.......IMO Parker was wrong to put a 2016 drink date on this beauty....and an 86 rating was wayyyy too low.
