Friday, February 19, 2016 - At the Oakville tasting during PNV week, great event hosted at Far Niente (best food of all the tastings...). Nice that they are pouring a wine like this a this tasting.
Beautiful purple/crimson color. Ripe dark fruit profile,, plums black currant, anise, coffee and vanilla. Some smoke/charcoal, light oak on back palate. Smooth, mouth coating texture. Moderate acidity and tannins.
This will be a classic, even by Harlan standards. An amazing wine from an exceptional vintage. probably starts to hit stride around 2020...my kids will be enjoying this wine in 30 years...96++
