Friday, August 22, 2014 - It's worth noting that the 2012 version is called Carignan- Grenache as it is 64/36% respectively . The wine drinks like a top tier Priorat. The red fruit of the Grenache emerges on the mid palate , but the dark notes of the Carignan as well as the high acidity & firm tannins add lovely balance.
Syncline just flat out understands this kind of wine. A Carignan heavy blend could be rough in the wrong hands, but they pull all the good stuff from this grape & blend just enough Grenache for the bright underpinning this needs. Absolutely get some.
