Saturday, May 3, 2014 - Really nice. This has a definite Poyferré personality, similar black-fruit flavors to more recent Poyferrés but this bottle, as you'd expect, is totally resolved and at peak. Despite its black pitch it offers some fruit flavors in the apple family seasoned with a sort of oatmealy character; there is still a wisp of tannin remaining which is enough to give the wine a texture that's more matte than gloss.
