Tuesday, August 8, 2017 - Opened and decanted 6 hours ahead. Cork stuck and completely disintegrated, necessitating filtering through a paper filter. Slow ox'd for 6 hours before drinking.
Nose of dark fruit. Substantial bricking. First sips were acidic with modest fruit. Smoothed out with minutes in the glass and became fruitier and more balanced with lots of unique and subtle flavors. Was actually better than expected for a fifty year old wine (opened to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our kids). Not a fabulous tasting wine by any means, but a memorable experience and glad we did it.
