Still very aromatic, the bouquet is lifted with stewed, lightly jammy spiced red fruit, preceding a palate rich and intense, layered with fine tannins and discrete acid. It’s medium-full bodied, but with a relative elegance and balance which give it great length and persistence. A pleasure to taste. Remarkable that the same region in the same year could produce two wines so utterly different in character, and yet both are so memorable.
