Sunday, July 8, 2018 - This bottling is always more restrained and nuanced than the regular bottling. Even at five years, the wine is a bit tight and reserved. Flint and mineral carry the nose and palate, but white grapefruit, honeydew, and lemon oil work their way across the palate. The acidity isn’t sharp, but it is the frame upon which the wine is built. Served a bit too cold. 12% alc. With grilled shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Recommended.
