Saturday, October 18, 2014 - Out the gate you notice the Port grape elements, but after a few hours in the air, the wine takes on a a less vintage port-like flavor profile as the sweetness recedes and the wine turns very dry. Lip staining tannins, but smooth and balanced. The 14.5% alcohol is pretty well hidden. I suspect this wine will get better over the next couple years, but I'm not sure it will be improving once 2020 arrives.
