Tuesday, October 4, 2016 - Clear, medium/dark garnet, legs.
Initially very green (wet leaves and bell pepper), but this blew off to some extent, to reveal plums, blackberries, earth, minty herbs, tobacco, leather. A rounded and supple mouthfeel, with medium acidity and medium(+) but fully integrated tannins. Soft dark fruits, earthy and minty notes on the palate. Medium(+) finish.
An aged claret that out-performed expectations for its vintage. This wine was smack in the middle of its drinking window, if anything, already past the crest and coming back down. Drink up and enjoy now.
