Thursday, May 20, 2021 - Opended and decanted 1.5 hours ahead of homemade burgers and fixings. Dark, purple-crimson color. The nose brings cherry blossoms, blackcurrant, creme de cassis, blueberry compote, pipe tobacco, and herbs. The palate is full, square, compact, and juicy, bringing a strong blackberry/blueberry core with dark cherries, milk chocolate, espresso bean, soy sauce, and lingering raspberries/cranberries into the tannic finish. Well constructed but in an awkward phase right now, even after 3-4 hours of air. Drink 2022-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.
