Friday, August 31, 2018 - What a gorgeous Riesling from Lauer with ages ahead of it. So pure aromatically: limestone, chalk, sea salt, crushed shells, laced with lime, quince, lemon, smashed rocks and ginger. Pure, clean and vibrant on the palate, some sweetness hits on the front end but then razor-like, pristine acidity sweeps in and cleans it all up. Rich fruit (pineapple, quince, white peach, drizzled with lime), but a host of ridiculously complex elements of sea salt, rocky mountain stream, oyster shells, along with honey and ginger. So gorgeous, so many years ahead.
