Tuesday, May 10, 2016 - This wine really needed a decant. I had the third coravinned glass tonight and although it was aromatic, it was a bit weird at first. There was fruit but I think it was a bit roasted. The palate was tight and tannic, and the wine got a bit hard to drink. But, after 2 hours of decanting, boom, the wine had a sexy oak and red fruit nose, and a smooth enticing palate. I don't usually see this much change with air, but this time, oh yeah. I would drink this with food as well.

Update [11/26/2016]: Finished the bottle tonight. Upgraded the score from 92 to 93. The experience of this wine was great overall. As I said before, this wine has a really lovely evolution with air which brings out a lot of aromatic complexity. I served this wine to my father-in-law a couple days before our wedding and he preferred it to the 1995 Lagrange and 1988 Lafite. I agree that it was way more approachable and hedonistic than those wines. This was also served at the cocktail hour at my wedding and the guests enjoyed it more than the other wines - 1995 Whitehall Lane Leonardini Vineyard, 1995 Whitehall Lane Reserve Cabernet, and 1995 Lagrange.
