Sunday, January 20, 2019 - From vines planted in 1865 - produced just in exceptional years, bottled unfined and unfiltered. Just 2,300 bottles produced for the 2012 vintage.
Deep red color. Beautiful nose with dark plums and toasty oak. A lot of things going on on the palate. Black berries, plum and liquorice - lovely spices and some vanilla in the back. Very concentrated but not overdone - very linear and precise. An absolute lovely example of an amazing deeply structured Australian Shiraz. I decanted it for a few hours which was a good decision. Drink now with a few hours of decanting or until 2030.
