Sunday, August 2, 2015 - Pre-tasting wines from Arlequin for a sensory clinic (Home): Dark ruby with no rim variation. Clear, bright.
N: Clear cracked black pepper. dark fruits - fresh and tart blackberry. Very nice.
P: : Moderate alcohol (13%? - yes, 13%). Elevated tannins - A bit tissue-papery/chalky. Medium plus body. Slightly elevated acidity. Correct and primary. A bit harsh to drink now.
Score: Around 9.
With some air, the dark pepper became more submerged by the ripe black raspberry, smoked meat, slight turned earth, and faint 4-ep (more like a warm dog smell). Great concentration with extended fruit, acid, and tannins on the finish.
Very nice!
