Saturday, September 15, 2012 - It's been 4 years since anyone has posted any tasting notes on this. I've been sitting on two bottles of this just waiting for an appropriate time. Decanted for 2 hours to ensure it had time to open, no noticeable sediment when poured into decanter. Characteristic floral nose and flavors showing plenty of tobacco, vanilla, spicy red currant, juicy plum, and an underlying earthiness. Tastes like it has a high percentage of Merlot; but displays complexity. Approachable, and smooth with a velvety mouthfeel. Excellent finish that lingers for a while. I think this will only get better for the next four to five years. Pairs well with grilled red meat.
