Saturday, November 19, 2011 - Decanter Ridge Vineyards Masterclass (Landmark Hotel London): Dark ruby colour. Surprisingly the wine shows more maturity than expected for its age. Along the cassis fruit there are floral nuances of violets, some rubber notes and coconut and vanilla notes which complement the fruit. Still very tannic and quite full bodied, offers aromas of black berries, sweet spice, integrated band-aid aromas, iodine and minerality. This is a wild wine, I suppose not to everyone's liking but there is no denying its complexity, intensity and depth of flavor.
