90 Points

Thursday, March 5, 2015 - Nice syrah, although it took about an hour before the sweetness blew off (a bit). This wine is a little sweet up front for my tastes, but this is not a jammy syrah (thankfully). Atlast Peak fruit. Uncorked and served PNP. Poured a dark color into the glass. Nose was all black fruit, grilled meat, licorice. Finished deep and dark, and actually quite spicy on the finish with a note of dried lavender and herbs. I liked that this was not a jam bomb, and I expect this one to really lay down and gain complexity over the next 5 years. I almost want to buy another 6 bottles of this to see what it does. But I see this wine changing over the next few years and getting darker and more luscious, but I don't see it appreciating in rating.
