Saturday, June 30, 2012 - Venerable old Vega Sicilia with an oxidative nose with tones of coffee, plummy fruit and spice. Palate is smooth and silky with finesse reminiscent of a Bordeaux wine of similar calibre and age. Tannins are melted and acidty is high balancing the fruit very well. Despite the oxidation in the nose at 52 it holds very well.
