Tuesday, April 18, 2017 - This wine is deep purple and clear with moderate limpidity. The bouquet is dark fruit based. Blackberry/Blueberry with hints of mocha and spice. Not strong and not perfumed. Easy. The palate is the same. FRuit forward dark fruits but spice and mocha nuances to it. Moderate acidity and tannins give it a nice textured mouthfeel. Strong body, moderate alcohol. 13.5 maybe? No 14.5. That is deceiving as I don't feel the alcohol as that heavy. Possibly because it is a bit more fruit forward and obscures it. At any rate, I do like it. Very easy to drink. Balance and finish are really nice. Holds together will and lingers conformably.

Overall this is a good wine. Not excellent or outstanding as it is somewhat limited in the power of the bouquet and simple in character. Sometimes that is nice though.
