Saturday, July 20, 2019 - Saturday BBQ (Chicago, IL): This is a heady wine on the nose, with plenty of jammy red and black fruits, but no sign of toast, coconut, or oak. It's a classically-styled hedonistic wine. The palate is definitely large-scaled as well, and the alcohol comes through on the finish, but the acidity here does help cut through all the thick extract on the palate. For CdP, this is very clean and perhaps a bit sui generis, but there's no denying it's really delicious.
