Thursday, February 23, 2006 - From Somellier blind tasting
Clear pale straw yellow core of moderate- intensity that extends out to a thin watery rim. Colour indicates mature grapes or very warm conditions or oak???
Clean closed nose - little fruit initially with some faint mineral notes along with some rubber.
Just off dry wine with moderate+ body. Honey and mango flavour with some alcohol heat on the palate (14%?). Little development shown - all sweet fruit and a moderate length finish. Acidity not obvious but with the sweetness present and the wine not cloying it must be moderate+ in intensity. This wine is very well balanced but is very young and needs some time to allow it's obvious pedigree to develop. Very good quality - would buy to cellar for 5-10 years.
Later - lily/straw on nose with waxy orchard fruit on the palate and a bit of orange peel on the finish - showing very well!
