Wednesday, April 27, 2022 - Had with 2009 Virginie de Valandraud with Tim and Katie, 2010 Penfolds 389, and so, initially we thought this was a one dimensional fruit bomb, although impressive after 10 years. After some air however, tannins still driving strong, began to open up into a nice wine. The strong fruit and medium tannins speak to the quality of this fruit and good backbone which we agree has many more years left, although unsure if likely to improve.
