Sunday, February 28, 2016 - Much improved in the bottle. An emphatic, explosively aromatic white wine. Usually Roussanne is best at 50-60 F. This one needs to be slightly chilled to 40-50 F, as otherwise the honeyed nutty Roussanne fruit is so explosive/enormous it overwhelms the blend which includes about 45% Grenache Blanc, a citrusy variety. Chilling helps bring it in better balance.

Pale gold, this is a pristine wine in the full throttle Andrew Murray tradition. We had this white wine with Shahi Korma, a spicy, gingery Indo/Pakistani dish with goat meat. The largesse of the wine was not intimidated in the least by this royal Mughal fare. 4 + 13 + 16 + 6
