Monday, April 29, 2019 - I think this is pretty damn good. It's aging but seemingly gracefully. Oxidation hits it hard with a little time out of the bottle but it just gives it a hand along. It's pale gold in color for sure with a tinge of lemon. You get the 25 percent new oak on the nose but not offensively. Smells definitively like a quality Chardonnay that's developing with age. Relatively one dimensional but I think it's almost better that way. Apple, citrus and pear combine with a creamy round note and a linear acidity to produce an inexpensive example of why Oak Knoll is such a cool appellation for (relatively) value Chardonnay. I like it!
